Macy’s SHOP FOR A CAUSE Event has partnered with NEMA House & other non-profit organizations nationwide to raise money for our ongoing charitable efforts. This is your chance to be part of this monumental event on Saturday, October 16, 2010.

SHOP FOR A CAUSE gives you the opportunity to give back to your community and to help NEMA House eradicate homelessness. Purchase a $5 Shopping Pass* for exclusive savings in every Macy’s store and online at macys.com on Saturday, October 16th, and NEMA House keeps 100% of the proceeds to go towards our Building Fund for a building to provide hot meals, clothing & other resources for the homeless & underserved. Plus, you can enter to win a $500 Macy’s Gift Card.

If you have a non-profit organization or ministry and want to HELP US HELP YOU raise money for YOUR ministry or organization through this Shop For A Cause Fundraiser, please read below.

Here's how it works:
You sign up with NEMA House as a Shop For A Cause Community Partner (must be a 501C3 non-profit organization or church) and you will receive a REFERENCE CODE for your ministry or organization. All you have to do is advertise the Macy's shop for a cause fundraiser to EVERYONE you know, direct people to NEMA House website to purchase a $5 shopping pass using YOUR Reference Code and $1 from each sale attached to your reference code goes back to YOUR organization. It's that simple!

Send email blasts, blogs, facebook & twitter posts* to your friends, family, staff and volunteers, ANYWHERE in the US, & make money to support YOUR cause as well as ours. Think about it, $1 adds up quickly...if you get 100 people to get shopping passes, that's $100 more to help fulfill your mission. What do you have to lose...It costs you NOTHING to participate!

*CANNED FOOD Drive (YEAR-ROUND)*

We are collecting canned food items to replenish our food pantry. It is our goal to provide 100 underprivileged families with a one-month supply of food this year.

 We are collecting: Any & all non-perishable canned & boxed food items and gift cards to Walmart, Winn Dixie & various other grocery stores.

*CHANGE 4 CHANGE Coin Drive (YEAR-ROUND)*

 This is a coin drive in which we collect "change to make a CHANGE" in the lives of our homeless friends. This is a year round coin drive. Ministries, businesses, schools, social groups and/or individual families are encouraged to participate at any time. Each group will have a Coin Box to collect moneyfor the specified time frame. This quarter the Coins collected will go towards our "NEED" Drive for Christmas. We are collecting: Pennies, Nickels, Dimes, Quarters and Dollar bills ($1, $5, $10, $20, etc.)
