Change Advocates
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with
NEMA House Resource Center
At NEMA House we call our volunteers CHANGE ADVOCATES. A Change Advocate is someone who is determined to MAKE A CHANGE and has dedicated & sacrificed time from their busy scheudule to support our cause.
Every person who volunteers with NEMA House plays an ACTIVE role in our FIGHT TO END HOMELESSNESS!
Whether you are in need of community service hours for school or probation, a local mom with free time on your hands or just have a heart to help...we would love to have you!
~Regular Event Volunteers~
*Ministry/Prayer Warriors*
EVERY Event - We need volunteers to go out and minister the Word of God and pray with the homeless and underprivileged individuals in our community. Sometimes people just need to be encouraged with the Word and for someone to come in agreement with them in PRAYER to change their lives. See EVENTS page for a list of events.
*Listening Ear Volunteers*
EVERY Event - We need volunteers to go out and be a "listening ear" to underprivileged individuals in our community. Sometimes people just need to know someone cares. See EVENTS page for a list of events.
*Camera Attendant - Photo Taker*
EVERY Event - We need volunteers to be in charge of capturing the precious moments we share with our friends in the communtiy at ALL of our events. See EVENTS page for a list of events.
*Set Up & Breakdown*
EVERY Event - We need volunteers to come setup and breakdown our at every event. These persons should report to site 30 minutes BEFORE event start time and 30 minutes BEFORE end of event. See EVENTS page for a list of events.
*Social Networking Specialist*
Continuously - We need volunteers to continually update NEMA House Facebook and Myspace pages with pictures and upcoming events. If you are interested please contact us.
*Spanish/Creole Translators*
Translators are needed on an occasional basis to translate for non-English speaking residents during resident meetings and case management sessions. *If you are able to translate please contact us to be put on a list of reserve translators as needed.
*Donation Sorters*
We are in need of help sorting and organizing our "warehouse" so we can more easily access items as they are needed. Currently we need assistance with initial warehouse setup and will need sorters to help keep up inventory as items come in and go out.
